Bagless vacuum cleaners are known for their flaw of releasing dust back into the air when they are being emptied. In the year 2016, Miele promised to launch a bagless vacuum that would not do that. The Triflex HX1 is a cordless stick vacuum that can be assembled in a variety of ways. Miele said that it was meant for pet owners.
Miele issues a wall-mount unit for the HX1, the wall mount can also be used to hold various attachments.
Adding to the standard vacuum head and the handheld brush, Miele comes with a dusting tool, crevice tool, and an upholstery accessory. Cleaning my cat tree took the dusting tool, crevice tool, and an upholstery accessory. However, this is definitely not the vacuums fault as the cat tree we were testing it on was a mix of squishy pillows, Papas an chair-style, and carpeted platforms, they are wonderful for cats but they become headaches when it’s time to clean.
Max power
At the handle of this Miele household vacuum, you can select a variety of 3 power settings. However, if we are honest with ourselves, the only time you won’t use the maximum power setting is when you are using it on soft rugs. The max setting is truly the max setting as it sucks up everything it finds on its way. The handheld brush was fantastic when cleaning the cat tree platforms which are usually very tricky to clean. The upholstery tool and the dusting brush also did their part on the soft surfaces.
We also tested this Miele household vacuum on hardwood flooring and carpets with a variety of surfaces placed intentionally like cereal and rice. Some other vacuums tend to ping little pieces of debris on the floor, but the HX1 kept every piece of debris contained even though it did struggle. Even though, it still managed to pick up everything else that was on the floor.
The low profile of the vacuums standard brush makes it fit well under the areas of console tables and bookshelves which can be hectic for taller vacuums as they cannot reach. It also comes with a headlight that lets you shine areas where it’s dark.
It took an approximate duration of 12 minutes to completely clean the entire cat tree. However, the HX1’s battery lasted for only 16 minutes when it was at its highest setting. That unfortunately a downside compared to some other competition models, and it’s important to mention that there are not any backup batteries for bigger jobs. When the device is on low power mode, it will last for about an hour. The total duration of use is slightly shorter than any other direct rivals, the Dyson V11 Outsize which goes for a longer period of about 65 minutes of cleaning time.
